Meet Liz. She's the owner of Go Baby Go, mama of two and a cloth diaper enthusiast. Pregnant, at the time, with her first little one, she decided to learn more about cloth diapers (CDs) from a good friend and owner of Go Baby Go. If you CD, you might be able to relate to the following statement:
MUST BUY ALL DIAPERS!
So, she did. And the business too. With Go Baby Go on the market, the time was right and Liz was now a local small business owner. Busting at the seems, it was time for the perfect location. Pretty cute place, if I might add. Take a look around yourself.
Liz is happy to help with all things CDing, baby wearing and natural baby care.
Of course, I had to ask Liz about the age difference between her children, 3.5 and 2. Not that I'm surveying for my own family or anything...but for those of you that are, she says "crazy in the beginning, but it gets easier."
If you want to start CDing on day one, Liz is there to support you with newborn rentals and a wealth of knowledge on what might work best for your family. "Don't over-think the whole process. Just go with it. Cloth diapering is really no different than disposable diapering, except you have to wash them."
Liz's Top Three Reasons to Cloth Diaper
1. Savings
2. Less waste
3. No chemicals on baby
"I try to not sell anything that won't last you for two children." Alongside the savings, the eco-friendly karma is outrageous. Less waste, less production. Happy Mother Earth.
"Cloth diapering was the gateway drug for me to live more natural life and use more natural products."

Did I mention there's a giveaway below? Only one of my favorite products, now sold at Go Baby Go!

I currently am CDing my daughter, so glad to be doing it. It has saved me money and also inspired me to use cloth wipes for both my children and when cleaning house.

ReplyDeleteJust started cloth diapering courtesy of The Great Clothe Diaper Change.
ReplyDeleteBesides recycling, when we made the committment to cloth diaper our first, we realized how it quickly it permeated our lives. I had already began researching cds, breastfeeding, and natural childbirth and realized early on that it fit me and my desire to raise a healthier family. Cd'ING led to more conscientious natural choices for our family by minimizing our consumption of disposable products and transitioning into healthier-organic foods.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried cloth diapering yet, but am planning to when our first little one arrives. Until then, I am learning all that i can and starting to build a stash that will *hopefully* make it through multiple kids.
ReplyDeleteI am also a new wool dryer balls convert, and am thinking of doing some line drying before i start CDing.
Yes! I've been CDing for over 3 years, and have not bought a single disposable ever since! It also began our road to not using any paper products, with the exception of toilet paper. :)
ReplyDeleteJust started looking into CDing and love everything I've been reading/finding out
ReplyDeleteI read about and researched modern cloth diapering before we decided to have a baby. It's the most fun you can have while collecting poop! I think my favorite part is converting friends!
ReplyDeleteCurrently cloth diapering 2 kids at the moment. Not sure how I could afford disposables at the rate I have to change them. Love Go, Baby, Go and go there for all my cloth diapering needs.
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper my 4 month old, and I'll probably use mama cloth when I get my first PP.
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper...thanks to the person above my comment! I have also started using other natural cleaning items like Bac-out and rockin green detergent.
ReplyDeleteCloth diapering was also my gateway drug into more natural things for my family. I love it and am so glad I decided to go this route! I can't imagine it any other way!
ReplyDeleteI CD my 5 mos son and love it!! That has led to looking into other eco/health friendly things for my baby.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my 3rd CD baby, 7 week old...It has led to lots of changes for us as a household
ReplyDeleteI started CDing with my youngest who is almost 8 months now. Thankful for Liz and her cloth diapering classes. Just learning about more ways to be earth friendly like snack bags in lunches. I also enjoy not having to open the diaper pail at church, since I use my wetbag, and avoid the stink.
ReplyDeleteI loved cloth diapering my babies and I started 16 years ago when we had to use pins and covers only came in a few prints. I love seeing all the new prints and styles and Liz is an amazing representative for the CD community.

I haven't tried it but am interested with number two coming...just need something to pull the trigger
ReplyDeleteBoth my kids have been cloth diapered and I love it! It has lead me to a wonderful community of awesome friends.
ReplyDeleteCloth diapering led me to reusable breast pads and mommy cloth. Ridiculously easy, soft, economical!. Just today, as I was touring my son's future daycare, I showed the ladies there how easy and soft the new and modern cloth diapers are. They were amazed! I really hope that more people jump on the cloth diaper bandwagon. We have allowed chemicals on our bodies for much too long and been told that it's not only ok, but more sanitary. Ok, rant over.
ReplyDeleteWe were cding but our little guy outgrew his stash. Can't wait to start over with our next!

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of business is MeanBaby? Are you a nanny or babysitter? I've currently been searching on care.com and sittercity.com for a part time nanny. I saw something on here about helping with baby prep, but I'm confused as to what all that entails. Is there an hourly rate? How many years of experience do you have?
ReplyDeleteHi there! I cannot see your name, but feel free to shoot me an email and we can chat about local child care options.

I woul love to try the chewbeads as a natural helper to teething
ReplyDeleteTried to cloth diaper... I'm too lazy. Even with a service. We had poor fitting covers, too, and as a result I was constantly covered in EBF poop - there are worse poops to be covered in, but it's still not pleasant.
ReplyDeletebeen using cloth for over 4 years straight now.. i've moved on to mama cloth, more babywearing, ditched paper towels for cloth towels.
ReplyDeleteI love cloth diapering! It has inspired me to look for more natural ways to care for my baby.
ReplyDeleteI don't CD but can't wait to visit this store next time I am in SA!!
ReplyDeleteYes! We are totally cloth diaperers. And what hasn't it inspired us to do differently?! I use mama cloth, we make almost all of our own bath/body products, we babywear--just to name a few.
ReplyDeleteWe love cloth diapering. It's inspired me to try mama cloth and unpaper towels.
ReplyDeleteI've cloth diapered my babies off and on since 2001 ;). Love trying all the ew diapers that have come around!
ReplyDeleteI had always wanted to CD with baby number one but had no clue where to start. With ds a new and amazing friend brought me into CD'ing and was kind enough to let us borrow prefolds and covers. Now were just trying to convert daddy ;) but we were able to get him to babywear so one battle at a time!
ReplyDeleteI didn't cloth diaper either...but I was interested both times. I just couldn't find a great local resource. Glad to know this shop is right down the street from me :)
